Finally it is the end of the X Factor 2009 on this day (Sunday 13th December 2009)! We are all a little sad about the show ending, but it has done so with our favourite performer coming second so we are really happy! Olly Murs you deserve it but for us you are the winner of this talent contest that looks for the ‘X Factor’ as you have just that. Never mind that you didnt win.  I parcially blame Simon Cowell for not supporting you properly in the weeks leading up to the final, as he seemed to back Joe and Danyl far more.

Although there were some good singers in the competition this year, I think that a pop star/X Factor spells a ‘performer’ not a stand still ballad singer. We have enough of those, so even though Joe has a great voice, the soul voice and dancing talent of Olly Murs won it for us for the last 3 months. The minute I saw him in the auditions, I knew that he would go far! It is a shame that the public voted in the winner as a ballad singer.

Olly sang ‘Twist and Shout’ and cracked it even better than when we heard it on the 7th November 2009 (movie week). He has come on so much, and he has so much further to go that we wish him the best of luck to live his dream of becoming a star! We love the Thriller dancing in Twist and Shout – it is so original!

The judges were all smiling and had some great comments…..

Louie Walsh – “You always entertain us – a born showman– you are going to have a great career– you deserve it!”

Cheryl Cole – “I am glad that you are standing up there in the bottom two – I wish you the very best”

Dannii Minogue “Everyone on the tour will be looking forward to seeing you”

Simon Cowell – “We are here to win the X Factor tonight – there could be an upset tonight – you are fearless, put on a great show – brilliant!”

The winners single ‘The Climb’ originally by Miley Cyrus was then performed by both acts. Olly was up first and he did such a good job – Dannii and Cheryl couldn’t believe where he had found his new voice, and we were surprised and delighted too, as it now proves 100% that Olly can do Soul, Dance and slow songs too – Go Olly, well done!

The judges had great comments:

Dannii Minogue said that she couldn’t believe where his voice had come from and she really liked the new voice that he pulled out for this song

Cheryl Cole asked where he got that voice came from and she wished him all the best

Simon Cowell “I can see now you really want it – I hope everyone gets behind you”

Watching his video clips of his fans and family was emotional and Olly shed a few tears, bless him. I did too, and I think that as he said, his family have been behind him all the way and having had the pleasure of meeting them, I say the same as Simon Cowell, it was a real pleasure!

The final 12 sang their charity single ‘Hero’ and it was lovely to see them all together again. It seemed such a long time ago that we saw Ricky and Rachel! The Mariah Carey cover is raising funds for the ‘Help For Heroes’ charity, which supports wounded servicemen and women, and the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

It was also great to see Leona Lewis back. Alexandra Burke and JlS did a medley of Alexandra’s ‘Bad Boys’ and JLS’s ‘Everybody in Love’

Sir Paul McCartney performed whilst the last of the votes were taken before the phone lines were closed, accompanied by the 12 X Factor finalist, singing ‘Baby, you can drive my car’ That was very cool! He then did ‘Live and let die’ whilst playing the piano which was spectacular.

What a great show!

The celebrity acts on this year, such as Lady GaGa, Rhianna, Whitney Houston and Michael Buble, have given the show a real wow factor and worth watching. Jedward were entertaining and Stacey was our second favourite to win from the start. All in all a great show – well done Simon Cowell, the producers, ITV and everyone else involved. It is one we will never forget.

And what with such a good ‘Britain’s got talent’ show earlier this year, in which Essex dance group, Diversity, won, we are now so proud to have another two out of the three in the finals coming from Essex, with Essex Girl Stacey Solomon in 3rd place! Well done guys!

Well a piece of very good news for all you Diversity fans – they are due to perform at Lakeside, Thurrock, Essex next weekend to launch Christmas!

Lakeside is launching into Christmas on Sunday 1st November with a day of fun-filled activities for all the family including a live performance from Britain’s Got Talent winners DIVERSITY. The local dance group will be taking to the stage to wow the crowds in an outdoor performance. Santa will be arriving on the same day, making his way to the grand opening of his new Grotto at 12 pm, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will also be making a VIP appearance.

WHEN: Sunday 1st November, 12pm Santa arrives at his grotto in the central atrium

Sunday 1st November, 1pm Diversity appearing on stage in carpark 3

WHERE: Car park 3, Lakeside Shopping Centre, Thurrock

perri Kiely diversity in Lakeside

Perri Kiely is aged just 13 from South Ockendon

Here he is in this photo, surrounded by fans all wearing a mask of his face – he has such a cute face, why not!
Perri: Lives with builder dad Russ and mum Christine. Sisters Star, 10, and Elvie, seven, also talented dancers. Three aunts and gran live streets away in South Ockendon, Essex. Attends Gable Hall School in Corringham. Aunt Carol Kiely said: “It’s wonderful, there was a lot of screaming and tears last night.”
The members of Diversity range in age from 13 to 25, but Ian McNaughton says he has “no worries” about the youngest dancers Perri Kiely and Mitchell Craske, both 13, coping with fame.
But McNaughton, who works in IT for a City law firm, said: “These two guys are the most down-to-earth guys you’d ever meet. We’ve got no worries about that.”

And here he is again in the front, together with his dance team members – Diversity!

Update on 17th September 2009 – poor little Perri failed to land an ambitious jump and landed in a heap on the concrete, when Diversity performed in Downing Street.outside Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s official residence, number 10!  He is alright though!

Diversity Ian McNaughton

Ian McNaughton – 25 years old From Basildon – he is brothers with Jamie Mcnaughton, and Matt Mcnaughton who are also in the groupIan can be seen in this photo – he is the first guy on the left….

Ian, Jamie and Matt: Elder brother Ian’s the eldest of the group. He lives in Essex and works in IT Solutions for a City law firm. Jamie works in telesales.
Matt is studying music at college. Says on MySpace: “Life is what you make it.” The boys have a sister, Rachael.

When asked what their dream is now, Ian McNaughton, 25, said: “It’s still early days, there’s so much out there to do. We’ve got the Royal Variety Performance and the tour as well, but we’re open to anything.”

Sam and Mitch: Brothers live at home in Dagenham, Essex. Massive fans of TV comedy Scrubs. Have a pup called Cassie.

Diversity dance terry smith

Terry Smith – 24 years old from Rainham
Group member Terry Smith, 24, volunteered to kiss the 48-year-old spinster, who reportedly had her first smooch with judge Piers Morgan.

Terry can be seen in this photo – he is 3rd from left at the back, inbetween Warren and Ike….
Terry: Has a Masters degree in computer technology. Lives with parents Paul, Josie and sister Danielle, 21, in Rainham, Essex.

Britain’s Got Talent winners Diversity have thanked fans for the votes that put them in top spot.
The street dance troupe signed autographs and posed for pictures outside television studios on the South Bank in central London.
Diversity member Terry Smith, 24, said: “To be honest, I’m still flying after the result. I’m just so happy. I don’t think we will ever get used to this. People’s support has been superb.”

Warren Russell – 18 years old from Dagenham
Warren can be seen in this photo – he is 2nd from left in the purple top, scarf and cap…..

Warren: Ex-pupil of Robert Clack School, Dagenham, Essex. Works in telecoms sales. Lives with mum Sonia, older brother Scott, and younger brother Ashton, 15, who’s starring as a young Michael Jackson in West End show. A neighbour said: “They’re always on the garden trampoline, I think that’s where they learned how to do backflips.”
Like many of the others, Warren Russell, aged 19, has been mocked by his mates for dancing but says: “It gives you such a break from everyday life. It lets out anger – and just shows who I am.”
